Jonas Book — author portrait
About the author

The investigator who became an educator.

For twenty-five years I built my career on a single question: why? Why does a husband kill a wife. Why does a teenager pick up a knife. Why does fear become action.

On September 11, 2001, that question outgrew me. I enrolled, at forty, at a Faculty of Theology — not to find God, but to find an answer my children could live with.

The Jonas Book Educational Series is what I learned, written for the people who refuse to stop asking why.

The author

From violent crime investigation to educational understanding.

A 25-year investigative journey to understand religion, extremism, fear and manipulation — and how to explain difficult topics, calmly, to future generations.

A 25-year journey

Four chapters that built an educational mission.

  1. 1986 – 2011

    Twenty-five years inside violent crime

A career spent interviewing perpetrators, victims and witnesses across thousands of cases — learning how fear, ideology and silence become action.

  2. September 2001

    The realization

After 9/11, the questions outgrew the case files. Why do human beings kill in the name of belief — and how do we explain that to the next generation?

  3. 2010s

    Faculty of Theology

A decade of comparative study across Judaism, Christianity and Islam — not to find faith, but to find language children and parents could live with.

  4. Today

    An educational mission

The Jonas Book Educational Series — cinematic, investigative, calm — written for parents, teachers and readers who refuse to stop asking why.

I realized that understanding difficult topics is not about fear — it is about helping the next generation ask better questions.
